Your Next Stamp May Preview Day

Hello fellow card makers.

Today is PREVIEW day over at Your Next Stamp. The May release is just hours away.  I am sharing my project using the NEW Freeze stamp set. This set is completely adorable. It comes with a male and female police officer and a cop car image. I think it's the perfect tribute to police and security officers everywhere. To see the rest of the release, tune in tonight at 10 pm EST for the Your Next Stamp May Blog Hop. The entire release will be available at that time and you will see tons of inspiration from the design team and guests. (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Blog.

For my project, I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. I embossed the cardstock with the My Favorite Things Brick Wall stencil using my Sizzix Big Shot. I then cut that panel down with the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die (second from largest). I used white craft foam and double sided tape to pop that panel up onto a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base.

To create the shield piece I cut a badge shape using my Brother Scan N Cut out of Stampin' Up!'s Night of Navy Cardstock. I used an SVG file that I purchased from and Etsy seller. (CLICK HERE!) to purchase the file. It comes with several cute badge cut files. Of course I enhanced mine. I used the My Favorite Things Radiating Rays stencil and Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink to add the rays of light behind out heroic police officer image. I popped up the shield with Scotch 3M foam tape.

I stamped my image from the NEW Freeze stamp set by Your Next Stamp with YNS Black Olive ink and colored him with my Copic Markers. I have a Copic Color map that lists each marker used to pin for your convenience. I cut him out with the Freeze Coordinating dies.

The sentiment is also from the Freeze stamp set. I combined two of the available sentiments so that it read "sound the sirens... it's time to party". I find this hilarious. In fact, I giggled the entire time I was making it. Ask Tim. I stamped the sentiment combination with Versamark ink on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock. I used Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment. I used Heffy Doodle's Strips of Ease dies to cut it out.

I popped both the sentiment and the image up using foam tape towards the center of the inked shield. I love how this card turned out. I wish you could see the brick wall design in the background a bit more in the photos, but thats my inability to capture the card in its true form. I think it looks great in person and it makes me giggle. To finish off the project, I added some sparkle on his uniform where I colored metal. His badge, his cap, his name tag and belt with Gelly Roll Stardust pen. Man, that pen really adds a lot of shimmer. I am more than happy with that purchase.

I hope that you will join us tonight at 10 pm EST for the Your Next Stamp May Blog Hop. Until then check out what the rest of the Design Team is previewing.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
